Musical Theater Audition Guidelines
The Musical Theater audition process is broken down into three components, Singing/Voice, Dance and Acting.
1. Singing/Voice: Applicants should prepare two songs from a musical theater repertoire. One should be light and rhythmic and the other should be of sustained quality. Applicants must bring their own sheet music in the key of their choice. An accompanist will be provided, if requested. Alternatively a CD/cassette player will be available for accompaniment.
2. Dance: Applicants will participate in a dance audition class. Please bring clothes appropriate for dance.
3. Acting: Applicants must prepare two monologues, a contemporary and a classical (before 1900). Monologues should be selected to best show your ability and range, must be memorized, and should not exceed four minutes total.
